Fall River, MA - Lightolier, the leader in interior lighting for over a century, has introduced Alcyon HID ceramic metal halide track lighting. Employing the latest miniature lamp and electronic ballast technology, Alcyon HID delivers the highest performance accent and flood lighting in an architectural wireless design. Alcyon HID fixtures are available in cylinders, flood lights and step spots, and are suitable for a variety of retail, commercial and architectural applications.
In addition to accommodating standard CMH PAR30 and T6 lamps, Alcyon HID was created to maximize the performance of the newest miniature, low wattage T4, MR16 and BT5 lamps. When used with high performance Lightolier reflectors in Alcyon HID fixtures, these lamps deliver the same amount of brilliant white light as a 50W halogen MR16 while using only 50% of the energy. Lasting as long as 15,000 hours, these lamps have a life of up to five times' that of equivalent incandescent sources.
"These new low wattage lamps represent a significant energy savings, and we developed Alcyon HID to get the best possible performance out of them," says Vice President & General Manager of Lightolier's Track Lighting Business Unit Ken Mackenzie. "The result is highly efficient and architecturally pleasing wireless track lighting."
By capturing the benefits of this new miniature technology, Alcyon HID proves ideal for a much wider array of applications than traditional CMH packages. Use 20W Alcyon HID in ceilings down to 8' in any situation where long or continuous operation is required. Foyers, office spaces, lobbies, museums, galleries and retail applications are all ideal locations.
Whatever the application, Alcyon HID delivers high performance, refined style and innovative features, including:
- Architecturally inspired wireless design

- Integral horizontal & vertical locking
- Built in ON/OFF switch standard
- Lamp Forward design simplifies relamping
