FALL RIVER, MASS. (May 22, 2002)— Lightolier has expanded its current retail track lighting line with the addition of two new metal halide track fixtures, ED-17 Lytespots and ED-17 Metallics.

Designed for retail stores and other long-burn applications, each fixture utilizes the readily available ED-17 ceramic metal halide lamp to provide superior color rendering, high energy efficiency and long lamp life with minimal color shift.

ED-17 Lytespots feature clean, architectural styling that works well in a diverse range of environments. ED-17 Metallics have a compact, highly styled design that offers an appearance unlike any other metal halide track fixture on the market.

Both the Lytespots and Metallics versions feature integral reflectors that enable multiple light distributions to be effortlessly achieved. The reflectors can be quickly interchanged without the use of tools, making it easy to adapt store lighting to ever-changing retail displays. Since the reflectors are so easily changed, it is not necessary to purchase new lamps when modifying lighting scenes. In addition, these dedicated reflectors help prevent incorrect beam spreads due to improper lamping.

The Metallics products feature an accessory holder that accepts two accessories and are available in Dome Shade or Barn Door shade styles. The ED-17 Lytespot features a swing door accessory cartridge that allows for easy relamping without upsetting the accessory setup. The hinged accessory door also allows for "free hands" during the re-lamping process. Both the Lytespots and Metallics products are sized to take advantage of Lightolier's broad range of PAR 38 accessories such as color correction filters, lenses and louvers to allow virtually any lighting effect to be created.

Ideal for use in high ceiling applications, these fixtures are available in 50, 70 and 100-watt versions. Each can be ordered with electronic ballasts and well as cost-effective magnetic ballasts.
