Fibre Light U.S. Introduces New Light Globe Technology
UNION, NJ. (May 30, 2001) - Fibre Light U.S. LLC announces the latest addition to its long line of application-based lighting solutions at Light Fair with the release of its new Light Globe Technology.

The Light Globe Technology is developed for applications where large numbers of lamps are used, such as, decorative strings of incandescent lamps, theaters, restaurants, marquee lighting, overhangs, retail spaces, atriums, and building delineation.

A key feature of these acrylic globes is the distinct point source look, visible from all angles replicating the internal filament of incandescent lamps. In contrast to traditional systems, Light Globe systems can provide programmed color change, chasing and other lighting effects. One single light driver can illuminate up to 40 individual fittings at brightness levels equal to popular incandescent light sources, saving up to 80% of operating costs. With the ability to locate the light source separate from the light fitting, maintenance costs are greatly reduced and random outages of lamps are non-existent. Fibre Light, Light Globes provide safe lighting for indoor and outdoor applications through the elimination of heat, UV, and electricity at the light fitting. The unique threaded end ferrule makes installation simple and easy accommodating mounting surfaces up to 1" thick. The Light Globe Technology will initially be available in the popular G16 form. Light Globes are powered by either Metal Halide or Halogen light drivers and can be used for indoor and outdoor lighting applications.

Light Globes are part of a total system solution, meaning that each part of the system has been specifically designed, manufactured and tested to meet a specific lighting application with consistent performance and quality. As in all Fibre Light Systems, Light Globe systems features factory prepared, organized, and terminated fiber which enhances lighting performance and consistency as well as minimizes installation time and expense by removing the need for fiber field termination.

Fibre Light U.S. LLC, a division of Genlyte Thomas, is headquartered in Union, NJ and provides creative fiber optic lighting solutions for lighting the world.
