FALL RIVER, MA. (May 29, 2001)- Lightolier
is hosting a new series of lighting systems technology seminars. These
intermediate level courses are targeted to the lighting end-user, facility
managers, architects, engineers, interior designers and lighting specifiers. Lightolier has registered all courses with both the American Lighting Association (ALA) and the American Institute of Architects (AIA) for accreditation. Date and topics are as follows.
October 1-3, 2001 Retail Spaces: This seminar, which has been
registered for accreditation by both the American Lighting Association
(ALA) and the American Institute of Architects (AIA), is an intermediate
course on luminaire systems technology and their application in retail
designs. Attendees will look at both current and suture trends in retail
lighting and how these more energy efficient lighting systems using T5
fluorescent, fiber optics and high color rendering metal halide, satisfy
the general lighting, display lighting and accent lighting requirements
of today’s retail spaces. Issues such as fading and discoloration will
also be addressed.
October 11-12, 2001 Designing with Fiber Optics: This seminar
will focus on the application of fiber optic lighting systems in interior
and exterior commercial, retail, residential and theme environments, as
well as landscapes and waterscapes. Participants will gain an in-depth
understanding of fiber optic system specification and layout, along with
a basic review of installation guidelines. The seminar will also include
mockups and presentations of design ideas by the participants.
November 5-7, 2001 Innovative Officing: This seminar is intended
for lighting specifiers, builders, contractors, developers, facility managers,
architects, and interior designers. Facilitated by the product management
and design staffs of both Lightolier and Steelcase, this program will
focus on the design of these more functionally efficient office environments
and on the lighting systems being integrated as part of the furniture,
walls and ceiling, to provide sensible lighting solutions.
November 12-13, 2001 Installing Fiber Optics: This seminar will
provide contractors with information and hands-on experience to handle
fiber optics lighting systems installation for a wide range of interior
and exterior commercial, residential, and retail applications. The program
will cover the basics of designing and specifying fiber optic lighting
systems as well as the integration of the system into the overall lighting
control and building system.
