Logo File Formats
Q: What is an EPS?
A: Virtually all page layout, word processing, and graphic applications accept EPS (Encapsulated PostScript) files.
The EPS format is the best format to use for high quality digital graphics printing; such as logos in ads and publications (vector based format).
Note: To receive the best quality print, you should use a PostScript printer. |
Q: What is a JPG?
A: The most popular format of the three is JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group).
The JPEG or JPG is a non-transparent file format used mostly on the internet and in digital photography (raster based format).
Note: This file format is acceptable for use in both print and on-screen. |
Q: What is a PNG?
A: Unlike a GIF (Graphic Interchange Format), a PNG (Portable Network Graphics) produces background transparencies
without jagged edges for both grayscale and color images; so they are the best format for on-screen presentations (raster based format).
Note: Unlike GIF, some older web browsers do not support PNG images.
